The last brain fart

This here was the last painting I did of this kind. Well, the last so far. This one I did pretty much the same way as the second one. I started drawing, rotated, drew some more, rotated, drew some more, and on and on. I also decided this one needed more colour than the last one. So I threw some watered down acryllic in the corner and then drew over top of it.

As with the last one, this one is pretty much just random doodles, but in this one I decided to do some homages to some stuff. Like, the one corner is my personal homage to the classic NES game "paperboy". And in the opposite corner I threw in the caterpillar from Alice In Wonderland. Just to name a couple.

but yeah, thats all I can think to say about this one. Hope you enjoy it!!!! and the last two!!! and you come back again some day in the future!

uhhmmm.... BYE!!

Oldy nombre 2

This next painting is another one I did over a year ago. Again, I did this one just because the first one was so much fun. Just a collection of doodles I did just to pass the time.

This one though, I wanted to do something a little more fun, so when I did it, I was constantly spinning the canvas. Now, whenever you look at it, you can spin it in any direction and there will be something to look at. I also tried to throw a little perspective in - in places just to make it look more fun.

I'm always intrigued by the topic of sanity, I don't want to turn into some pretentious hipster and start talking about bullshit like "I wanted to capture the blah blah blah", but yes there are some doodles that are dedicated to the insane mind and religion and astrology and some vague literary things and such, but I won't get into it. If you care enough about those things, you'll be able to spot my shotty attempts when you look through the collage. Also, I tend to draw mushrooms a lot when I'm doing stuff like this, not for any particular reason, I just like to draw mushrooms. There's something fun about them.

As usual, the majority of it is black paint marker on plain canvas, but every now and then I slapped on some water colour and acryllic paint.

and as usual, I don't know what else to say about this piece, so I'll leave now and let you check it out. ...whoever you are. I have one more of these types of paintings that I'll post soon. so, peace out for now!!

Oldy

Hey everyone! (if anyone is still paying attention that is)

So this painting I've had for a while now. I did this over a year ago, but haven't had the time or ambition to post it online until now.

I got an idea over a year ago of a clock. It was a clock split into the 12 zodiac signs and their corresponding months and signs. With the 4 quarters of the clock divided up into the 4 seasons we would normally experience throughout the year.

I tried to incorporate a bunch of symbols and junk into it, since at the time I thought I was learning all kinds of things about mysticism and mythology and theology and everything else. So I decided to draw it in paint markers on a giant canvas; it didn't come out exactly as I had wished, but it gets the job done. So from there, I thought it looked plain on its own, and I didn't have any ideas of how to fill up the rest of the canvas.

So, for the next 2/3 weeks I just chose to let go. And just let my brain wander around a bit.

Every now and then I would take a few minutes, or a few hours and just let my random thoughts spill out onto the canvas. I would start a section with a random quote I had in my head, or just simple lines and just flow until I recognized something, then I'd turn that into something. I tried to make everything flow into everything else, its choppy, but I'm pretty satisfied with how this turned out.

I hid little tidbits and inside jokes throughout this whole thing. and unless I sat down and explained every doodle to you, I'm not sure if most people will spot them. But anyways, this was my first attempt at something like this, I've since done a couple more, and I will post them as soon as I get a minute or two.

so yeah, until then internets!!!!

Loooong over doo doo

Hey there internets!

It has been fooooooreverrrrr. But I have a good excuse, I like to earn money. So I have to keep my screwing around on the internet to a ....yeah nevermind.

So anyway, I don't have too too much in the way of new drawings, but I do have a painting to show off. I was commissioned by my lady to do a piece for an event she was planning this past month. It was a fundraiser for the Children's Wish foundation. She and 5 of her classmates had to put it on as their final project for their program. So they decided to do a high school glee competition. Yes, completely dedicated to the hit show, Glee.

As much as I would like to hate on the show, I won't right now. Because the event was actually a really big success. The teams were pretty talented, they put together some pretty good performances. AND I got to be an unofficial photographer for the night. AND, I got to unleash my drum-kit for the day, and play with it too!

At the end of the night the event ended up raising over $10,000! If anyone cares to take a look at the event and how it went down, check this out:

http://www.wishuponagleek.com/

Anything you want to find out about it can be found there. and you'll see some of my fine photography skills too :) I didn't take all the pictures, but I did take quite a few.

And I did do a painting for the event's silent auction, and at the end of the night it ended up going for ...I think it was around $120. I don't remember. I do think most of the bids were pity bids, but still, some random person got to take it home, and now a piece of me is in their house. :)

So this is the painting.

Does it fill you with that Gleeful feelin'?

Once again though, there are some slight things that I don't like about it. Like any painting I've ever done. But I think it still turned out ok in the end :) I especially liked doing a Brady bunch style thing.

But anyways, that's it for now. Maybe I'll check back in sometime soon and do a nice big upload all over your browsers. :)

BYE!

PANdemic!

HEY!!!!

Holy CRAP long time! (that sounded more "asian prostitutey" than I expected).
So yeah, I haven't posted in forever because I've been back at Workury since Feb. (not that anyone's really been checking to see if I've been posting anyways). things have been pretty steady, busy, all that good stuff.

I haven't had too-too much time for drawing my own stuff since I've been back, though I squeeze in the occasional piece when I get too bored, and I'm starting to get a nice "to-do" stack for the next time I'm out of a contract. So if/when that happens, watch out, I'll be posting as much of it as I can.
Until then though, here's a little something for your viewing pleasure.

I drew this about 6/7 months ago, and took my damn sweet time painting it. I had a certain vision of what this one would look like, but like always, it ended up looking completely different than what I had seen in my head. I would still like to maybe add a bit more background detail, but I'm lazy, so I think this is how this one is going to stay. For all intensive purposes, its finished.

I read a bunch of stuff about the Greek "god" Pan a while back and wanted to do my rendition of him. So here.

anyways, I guess thats it for now, I'll be sure to post as often as I can from now on.

PEACE out internet peoples!

What would have been.

Whats up everyone! So here's my submission for this past 11 second club competition!
...Well.... it would have been... once again, I missed the submission date and didn't submit.
SOMEDAY, someday, I swear I'll submit a scene and show those rhubarb-eating scallywags over there at 11 second club just what my cojones are made of.

Either way, here's what would have been. I've uploaded the rough lines, because frankly, I like it better than the coloured version I would have handed in.

Feel free to rate it as you would the videos on the 11second club site. :)

Peace out!

Hockey?? you gonna give that shit up, concentrate on golf!

OH! HI there!

Just stopping by? come on in, I just made cookies! How are things? kids doing well?
Oh by the way, check this beast out!
It was a piece Emma got me to draw a while back for fun, and just recently it was commissioned by a friend, so now it is a painting!
Too bad, it won't be in my living room ever, but yeah, I guess I'm now officially whoring myself and selling my abilities to the top bidder. :) And I'm kind of enjoying it. Painting is getting surprisingly fun!
This one is - again- like 70cm x 90cm. Acrylic paint and Black Paint marker with a touch of watercolour for the light blue ...water... background. :)

ENJOY!!!!

THATS KABLAMO!

Whats up everyone!

I thought I'd post this here, since I've uploaded it to youtube already. this is the posing/keys/whatever for my January submission to the 11 second club. I'm hoping I can get it done in time this time around.
Hope you all enjoy it, critiquing is always helpful. ...If you want to be helpful that is.

PEACE!

2010 A Blogspace Odyssey

Well Hellloooooooooooooooooooo there. So here it is, finally a little bit of downtime to finally post some things worth posting. Enjoooyyyyyyyyyeeeeeee!

This first one here, is a Painting I made for my lady for a Christmas Present. I'm not too sure what its supposed to be, it was more just some
thing graphic and "Avant-Garde"y that I wanted to try out to see if I could do it.
The painting itself is like a 2.5 x 3.5 foot canvas, done entirely with acrylic and a paint marker. :)

This one here is another painting that my lady ...commissioned me to do after she saw the Christmas present painting. This one is again, the same-sized canvas as before, and again - done with acrylic and paint marker. ...In case you couldn't figure it out, its a koala eating a live chicken with chopsticks. ...And I know, a Koala in an environment that grows bamboo is silly, but cut me some slack, ok?

In other news, I'm sure you all remember the Alphabet of Sexual Depravity that I posted on here back in August. ...And then took down in September...
Well, I talked to my new friend Rico (of crapculture.com) And we compiled the 26 paintings into a book, to print and give to the world. Here is the *living proof * of the books existence. (*living proof in the form of a .jpg)

As of right now, things are at a slow-point. If anyone would like to order a copy of the book, let me know and I'll let you know if/when I can make that happen for you. :)

In a bit of extremely sad news though. This month marked a major turning point in my life, and hopefully the lives of dozens of others. It took 4 long and adventurous years, but as of January 15th. The once great, and infamous Booger Barn - The unofficial Animation Frat house of Algonquin College - is no more.
For those who never experienced this magical place, you will never know how meaningful and welcoming the house truly was. I honestly wish I could sit down and write out exactly what it meant to me to be a part of the Barn family, but my words escape me. Ask me again in 6 months and maybe I'll be able to piece my thoughts together well enough to explain it to you.

Until then, here's a few before and after pictures to show where we've been and what came of it all when it ended.
If you care to see more of these pictures, I'll be posting them on my facebook in the days and weeks to come.

It's been said a lot in the last few days, and when the day comes when I finally stop saying this, but it needs to be said again and again, Cheers Booger Barn and everyone who helped make it as legendary as it was. ...Cheers.

And Finally, to bring everyone back up a little on the emotional scale; I'll be going back to animate at Mercury Filmworks in a couple weeks. I'll try my best to stay on top of posting any new masterpieces that come out of my being there.

And there you have it. Thanks for reading all of this (if you stuck around this long). See you all real soon.

Peace!

It was - A Most Illusive Fish!

ALLO Vera!!!

So whats up peoples?
It seems its nearing the Christmas holidays... not that you needed me to tell you that...
It also goes without saying that times are hectic and busy all around.
Not too busy though, for some sketching and painting time.

In honour of - what to me is - one of the greatest theatrical releases of all time, I whipped up this doodle of Sir Terry Jones in one of his Top notch roles with the Pythons last week as a warm-up sketch for my day. Then as usual I got carried away and liked it so much I had to colour it.

I'd also like to state, I don't often do "characature's" and I haven't painted in a while, so I'm a little rusty. So any tips on how to do those things... good in the first place, I will take into consideration. :)

Hope you guys likey. ...And even if you don't, you still had to waste valuable seconds of your life reading this mini-rambling. So who's the real winner here?

PEACE OUT!

My unfinished 11 second club

Whats crack-a-lackin? ....sorry....
So yeah, this was my entry for October's 11 second club. To answer your question Stefan, I did not end up submitting it, I didn't end up finishing because I got a job halfway through the month and had to put this on the back-burner in order to teach myself how to do my new job.
But, after viewing and voting on this months entries, I felt mine still needed the chance to be seen. So here it is. Hope y'all like it.

side note, doesn't this month's sound clip sound fun!?!?!

11 second character guy

HI!!!
So yeah, as I said before I'm trying to submit my entry for the 11 second club this month. We'll see if it gets done, its a slow, and educational process. I want to have some poses and keys and such to show off, but it may take a couple more days. Until then though, here's a little taste of whats to come. Here's the character I quickly whipped up for my scene.
ENJOY! :D

12 second club

HEY! so I was sitting around earlier today, kind of lost, trying to think of something to do with my time. I opened up flash and start screwing around. And this is what spewed out of me. I hope you all enjoy it. :)
its MY month long animated contribution to the internet. Take THAT people who participate in contests that gain them acclaim in the professional world. ...someday I'll be respectable like you...

One love.

Freestyling! like its Random! R- Random!

Whats up peoples?
So here's a little something I thought I'd throw on here just because.
Just some expressions, that were supposed to just be warm up sketches, but I liked the way they looked, so I decided to colour them. Also... I've been reading a lot of comics as of late, I think its showing a little through the style in these. ...hmm... BYE!!! I love you all! ...click on my ads some more! :D

CHErubim

YO, y'all n***a's need, to cook up cocaine wif- b'king powdah an' sell it. All duh best, Cornrolla. P.S. PRRRRRRRRRR!!!

So yeah, now that THATS out of the way, check this drawing out!
I started this one exactly two years ago, but couldn't get some things right about it, so I put it on hold and stuffed it in a drawer. Occasionally I'd take it out and work on it for an hour at a time, then about a week or two ago I was flipping through old sketchbooks and I came across this. It always kind of bugged me that I never finished this one, This one I felt was ...special, for a number of reasons... I was going somewhere with this one. (mainly because I was developing my style of drawing at the time). So here it is, finally completed. It took somewhere around 18 hours altogether to finish it to this point. I'm working on cleaning it up now, we'll see if that takes me another two years.

To start this posting, I'ma start with something I did for the Sketch Blog-blog, but was never able to post because I always respond to the emails too late and the offer to join expires (cough* trent) ;)

So basically its a druid, hanging out with some pixies... being all magical... at night. ENJOY

Next on the block is a drawing I just did a few hours ago. Its a doggy, being a doggy, and playing with a bug.

So ja, I hope you guys like these. As always, Help me whore myself out by clicking on my ads. :) I'll love you and your private areas for always if you do.

Free Games for May

Whats up everyone??!? I finally got around to doing a little bit of sketching! yay life! nothing too extravagant, but I finally emptied a part of my brain. I'm kind of tired of the whole techno-art wave thats taking over, and I wanna take a break from it. In other words, back to the roots. just pencil and paper baby, I didn't even use a digital cam or scanner or anything, I physically PASTED these drawings on here using spit and armpit goo. THATS rootsy!
This first post is just an ant. Just an ant, who's angry. Angry ant.... yep.

This next one is a bird. no reference, just a made up bird with pencil-crayon and brush pen.

Annnnnd this last one, is a sketch of The late-great Syd Barrett. I would've done the resat of the floyd, but ...well I just haven't gotten around to it yet. It may still happen.

As always, thanks for checking shit out, Comment if you like, and click on my ads to help put ex-foods in my toilet. Peace out!

Thinkin and shit.

Whats up all?

I don't have anything drawing-wise to post. I haven't been drawing a whole hell of a lot, but I have been thinking, and I want to get as many people in on this as possible. So I'm throwing this question out there for everyone to mull over.

If you had a chance to sit down with Satan himself for a minute and ask him one question, and know you could say anything to him and he would have to be completely straightforward with you;

What question would that be? What would you ask Satan?

Long time no C

Hey there internet!

its been a long time hasn't it. A lots been going on lately, moved out of the booger barn and into a new apartment. Sorry that's taken all my time, but here's something I managed to fart out in a few minutes.

I'll try and have something with more effort and higher quality in the near future, but for now you'll have to settle for a new... Teddy Bear Death!

BYE internets!

BOB marley! blowin' anna puf-fin'

Whatsup internets?

Oh not much eh? that's good to hear. Well, I'm not asking because I care, moreso just to ask to find a way to talk about myself some more. So being that its mother's day tomorrow, I thought I'd get festive and do something for my ma.
THEN I thought I'd post it on my bloggo for the worlds to see. And here it is, its inspired by a lyric from "give it away" the classic chili peppers hit.

If you like it, you should let me know by clicking on my ads. And if you don't, tell me how it frustrates you by clicking angrily on my ads.

Change? got any change?

Whats up again!
HERE I was sitting down today thinking, "You know what?! I'm gonna be productive today!!! I'm gonna do something worth my time like, find a job, or animate something, or learn a new skill!" EVERYONE should try learning a new skill every now and then, right?
But then after ten-failed minutes of pretending to animate traditionally I got back into photoshop... It was only supposed to be for a few minutes, something to fart around with while I ate lunch. Alas its 4 hours later and I have some new crap to post. (not to mention a 'fancy' new (stock) layout for my ever-growing blogosphere). And a new title box that's pretty much just an alternate version of the drawing in this posting.

So here's the sketch. One day at Work a while back I was wasting time, and listening to nirvana, skynyrd, and smashing pumpkins. ...Where this sketch came from, I'll never know.... And all I had was a pen.

Then, KABLOOMERS, its coloured.

Enjoy internet. I love you. And click on my ads and leave me some comments, and I'll try to dothe same for you.

Sketches of mon lady.

Hey there interweb.
I haven't been up to a whole hell of a lot lately, and haven't updated in a while. So to make myself feel like I'm doing something productive, I figured I'd put up a couple more sketches from my "Mercury Sessions" folder. ...just to keep you interested in me :)

This first one is just an amalgamation of all the drawings and sketches I've done of my lady in the last few months. I was gonna leave them just as the raw sketches, but figured I'd pretty them up for you; John Q. Public.

And this here is a nice little life-drawing I did of my lady a while ago. (I like to draw her while she sleeps. ...Then
smell her hair... wait...)

Enjoy people! and yeah uh as always, clicking on ads helps feed my children.

Hobgoblin 2.0 ...and whoring myself.

Whats up internet peoples;

Ok, so here's another quick update.

I did this hobgoblin sketch, it was one of my "Mercury Session" drawings.

Technically I drew this one like weeks before I drew the one that's already posted near the bottom of the blog. It just took me until now to actually want to paint it.

Here's a before and after shot of the drawing, just because I thought it may be cool for everyone to see the entire adventure of it rather than just me.

And as always, I'm a whore, so please please, click on the ads at the top and bottom of the page, (you don't have to do anything, I don't think they have pop-ups attached to them), but for every click on the ads, I make money. :)
Help a brotha out in these times of "recession".

lately things

So yeah, I haven't been up to a whole hell of a lot lately, but last week I got the animation bug up in my ass, so I decided to just do something to fuck around.

My lady had an idea for a little scene involving a flamingo, but I didn't really know how a flamingo moved. This here is the most basic of walk studies with a flamingo. I know some things are off about it, I'm still in the process of tweaking. And then maybe adding some character to it afterwards.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks for the completed scene.

Oh and, if you're reading this, please feel free to click my ads on my page, so I can make some cash to maybe put some (legal) production value into future animations.

Peace out.

I had an itch to post today, and since I don't have anything too fantastic to put up yet. I figured I'd put up some of my "mercury sessions" doodles. Just random ideas that came out of me whilst at Mercury. Look forward to more nuggets like these.

Cute Murders pt. 2

Another installment of teddy bears and the disturbing situations I place them in. Again, this was the product of boredom and MS paint. Enjoy again.

Cute Murders

Ok, so over the last summer I went through spats of boredom while at work. I had MS paint at my fingertips, and this was the product of hours of wasted time. Enjoy

Duder

A guy I drew one day while I was bored. Then coloured later on because I wanted it to be pretty.

Hobgoblin

I couldn't find any good pictures of the Hobgoblin onine, so I figured, "Why not just draw one myself?" Suck on it internet!!
