Oldy nombre 2

This next painting is another one I did over a year ago. Again, I did this one just because the first one was so much fun. Just a collection of doodles I did just to pass the time.

This one though, I wanted to do something a little more fun, so when I did it, I was constantly spinning the canvas. Now, whenever you look at it, you can spin it in any direction and there will be something to look at. I also tried to throw a little perspective in - in places just to make it look more fun.

I'm always intrigued by the topic of sanity, I don't want to turn into some pretentious hipster and start talking about bullshit like "I wanted to capture the blah blah blah", but yes there are some doodles that are dedicated to the insane mind and religion and astrology and some vague literary things and such, but I won't get into it. If you care enough about those things, you'll be able to spot my shotty attempts when you look through the collage. Also, I tend to draw mushrooms a lot when I'm doing stuff like this, not for any particular reason, I just like to draw mushrooms. There's something fun about them.

As usual, the majority of it is black paint marker on plain canvas, but every now and then I slapped on some water colour and acryllic paint.

and as usual, I don't know what else to say about this piece, so I'll leave now and let you check it out. ...whoever you are. I have one more of these types of paintings that I'll post soon. so, peace out for now!!

Oldy

Hey everyone! (if anyone is still paying attention that is)

So this painting I've had for a while now. I did this over a year ago, but haven't had the time or ambition to post it online until now.

I got an idea over a year ago of a clock. It was a clock split into the 12 zodiac signs and their corresponding months and signs. With the 4 quarters of the clock divided up into the 4 seasons we would normally experience throughout the year.

I tried to incorporate a bunch of symbols and junk into it, since at the time I thought I was learning all kinds of things about mysticism and mythology and theology and everything else. So I decided to draw it in paint markers on a giant canvas; it didn't come out exactly as I had wished, but it gets the job done. So from there, I thought it looked plain on its own, and I didn't have any ideas of how to fill up the rest of the canvas.

So, for the next 2/3 weeks I just chose to let go. And just let my brain wander around a bit.

Every now and then I would take a few minutes, or a few hours and just let my random thoughts spill out onto the canvas. I would start a section with a random quote I had in my head, or just simple lines and just flow until I recognized something, then I'd turn that into something. I tried to make everything flow into everything else, its choppy, but I'm pretty satisfied with how this turned out.

I hid little tidbits and inside jokes throughout this whole thing. and unless I sat down and explained every doodle to you, I'm not sure if most people will spot them. But anyways, this was my first attempt at something like this, I've since done a couple more, and I will post them as soon as I get a minute or two.

so yeah, until then internets!!!!

PANdemic!

HEY!!!!

Holy CRAP long time! (that sounded more "asian prostitutey" than I expected).
So yeah, I haven't posted in forever because I've been back at Workury since Feb. (not that anyone's really been checking to see if I've been posting anyways). things have been pretty steady, busy, all that good stuff.

I haven't had too-too much time for drawing my own stuff since I've been back, though I squeeze in the occasional piece when I get too bored, and I'm starting to get a nice "to-do" stack for the next time I'm out of a contract. So if/when that happens, watch out, I'll be posting as much of it as I can.
Until then though, here's a little something for your viewing pleasure.

I drew this about 6/7 months ago, and took my damn sweet time painting it. I had a certain vision of what this one would look like, but like always, it ended up looking completely different than what I had seen in my head. I would still like to maybe add a bit more background detail, but I'm lazy, so I think this is how this one is going to stay. For all intensive purposes, its finished.

I read a bunch of stuff about the Greek "god" Pan a while back and wanted to do my rendition of him. So here.

anyways, I guess thats it for now, I'll be sure to post as often as I can from now on.

PEACE out internet peoples!
